Anyone can search the Companies House register for free. For every company, it shows the registered office address, and for every director and person with significant control, a service address. If either of those is your home, your home address is public.

How to keep your home address off the register
- Use a registered office address service for your company, instead of your home.
- Use a service address for every director, again instead of your home. AI Address includes this for every director of your company, on every plan.
- Update Companies House online. Changing a registered office and a director's service address can both be done through Companies House's online services.
If your home address is already on the register
Changing your address stops it appearing on new records, but older documents already on the register still show it. You can apply to have it removed from those documents with form SR01. It currently costs £34 for each document you list. Since 21 July 2025 you can also ask to remove the day of your date of birth, your signature and your business occupation.
If you're at serious risk of violence or intimidation because of your company, there's a separate process to stop Companies House sharing your details at all.
